There is nothing official about this, but at this blog, I am declaring that this whole year from September 6, 2016 to September 6, 2017 is International Reading Year! Care to join me and spread the word?
If you like this idea, please tell as many people as you can.
And thank you to various people in the blogging world for suggesting continuing National Read A Book day!
Great idea!

Sure.. but you might want to change the dates… They are SO last century. Give it a look again

LOL! Wow, not that is a mistake!!!! Thanks for pointing it out!

Love the pictures you included in this post! I also like the idea, but I have just one question – you’re just calling it International Reading Year, you don’t mean that people need to read International books, do you? When I have this clarification, I will gladly post about this on my blog in the Monday, September 12th spot. 🙂

No, I don’t mean that. I simply hope it encourages people to read whatever books they like.

Yes, it is a great idea, but I needed to change the century!

A reading year sounds very good, but maybe you should change it to this century 🙂

I almost said something but I wasn’t sure if you had done that on purpose for a whimsical reason or not!

Makes sense. I took the Good Reads challenge for the year and my goal is to read 80 books by December 31, 2016. I’m up to 65.

Every year is a national reading year! Or at least it should be.

Let’s Declare This International Reading Year and extend it to 2017!
My writer, blogger frieND Charles French had an awesome idea here. Books have bten my best friends since I learned to read at 4, thanks to my dear mother for teaching me phonetics at early age. And, thank God my father taught me what the prefixes and suffixes meant. It made reading like a game and I could understand books at a higher level than what anyone normally could.
Sit around the dinner table tonight and ask your family members what did you learn today?….see what they say. You can learn things out of books you’ll never learn any other way. BOOKS EXPAND YOUR MIND and Imagination.

Hello Charles,
I just shared this on Totally Inspired Mind, and I added my own personal touch to it, expanding International Reading Year to the year 2017, since we’re coming to the end of this year.
By the way, the post I shared about International Coffee Day that I added an illustration to is still on the top 10 on Totally Inspired Mind. I just want you to know.
