  1. A wonderful project! Reading the first posting of Stephanie at her blog I had to realize for myself that until now, I had always considered censorship negative only on one side. I am very much looking forward to the progress and results of the project. Michael

  2. This is the assignment my senior English teacher gave us that hooked me on poetry. We had to write and recite to the class two love poems we wrote. The second part is what really hooked me. We had to illustrate two poems by famous poets with cutouts from magazines or whatever. I chose Robert Frost “The Road Not Taken” and Sidney Lanier’s The Song of the Chatahochee. My grandma had years of Arizona Highways that helped me.

You might think about this as an assignment. For those that just want to get it done it’s easy. For those that fall in love with poetry you will have given them a lifetime gift!!!

    • That is a wonderful assignment! I also have my students choosing one book that they would want to save if they lived in a time when all books were banned–this is taken directly from Bradbury’s Fahrenheith 451, and they have to memorize two paragraphs and present them.
