“No human race is superior; no religious faith is inferior. All collective judgments are wrong. Only racists make them”
Elie Wiesel

“The contributions of African Americans, Native Americans, and immigrants throughout our nation’s history are undeniable, but the tendency to overlook their gallant efforts is pervasive and persistent.”
Tammy Duckworth
“Our nation was born in genocide when it embraced the doctrine that the original American, the Indian, was an inferior race. Even before there were large numbers of Negroes on our shore, the scar of racial hatred had already disfigured colonial society. From the sixteenth century forward, blood flowed in battles over racial supremacy. We are perhaps the only nation which tried as a matter of national policy to wipe out its indigenous population. Moreover, we elevated that tragic experience into a noble crusade. Indeed, even today we have not permitted ourselves to reject or feel remorse for this shameful episode. Our literature, our films, our drama, our folklore all exalt it. Our children are still taught to respect the violence which reduced a red-skinned people of an earlier culture into a few fragmented groups herded into impoverished reservations.”
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
They are all magnificent. Wiesel, as usual, says the most, with fewest words.

Dr King had it spot on didn’t he. Now you have a President fighting against immigration in a land built on immigration.

I fear he will only ever see his point of view, He seems a man of little talent and much ignorance.

The saddest part is that children are not born racist. They do not spring from the room riddled with prejudice. Parents persist in teaching racism thus perpetuating hatred. Heartbreaking. P.S. I am a huge Elie Wiesel fan. I use some of his writing in class.

Do people even bother to listen anymore? People who believe they are educated have spouted lies that the Holocaust never happened. So, where is my family? Aliens?
