I realized that when I did the recent post of who is your favorite speculative fiction writer, I made the question very wide. That is fine, but now I am curious about your answers to this specific question:
Who are some of your favorite science-fiction writers?
Here are a few of mine:
Douglas Adams: The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy
Jules Verne: 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
Robert Heinlein: Stranger In A Strange Land
These are only a few of many excellent writers, whom I appreciate.
So, I ask–who are some of your favorite science-fiction writers?
I don’t read much science fiction, but do love books with time travel! I’ve enjoyed several by Jack Finney, but not sure whether Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger is considered sci fi. I’d love to know of new time travel books to try!

I think it certainly would be science fiction.

Iain M. Banks. Anne McCaffrey. Julian May. I have never read Verne, or H.G. Wells, which seems like an error I can correct later this year!

I was going to include Lester Dent,Jules Verne and Walter Gibson as well as the creative team for the Perry Rhodan series. All Grandmasters in the Sci-Fi world.

The three that got me hooked on writing (and reading)…Andre Norton, Heinlein, and Asimov. They were the leaders of SciFi when I was a kid.
