Once again, the world witnesses the horror of an evil person committing mass murder, this time against innocent worshipers in a mosque in New Zealand. It is an unthinkable horror, with at least 49 dead and many more wounded.
The person who perpetrated this evil was a white supremacist who saw immigration as an evil that somehow threatened white people.
The true evil of hatred and bigotry is growing in our world. Unfortunately, the fascism that seemed to have been defeated in World War Two is active and, once again, emerging. It must be opposed by reasonable people everywhere.
Political figures who stoke the fires of bigotry for their own purposes must bear some of the responsibility for these terrible actions, but we, the people of the world, must stand up to right-wing extremism and bigotry always.
I grieve for the pain of the people who suffer from this attack, and I stand against any who would support bigotry and fascism.
We have reached a point in the world when all must speak out.
Thank you for this important message, Charles.

It’s inconceivable that someone can hold so much hate and still live with it in them. You would think it would ooze out like puss for all to see. My heart hurts for everyone that has to know this exists.

Hate has always been among us. But in the past, people wore it discreetly beneath their outer garments, like underwear. These days, it has become fashionable to put on hate proudly, as women might adorn themselves with heirloom brooches handed down from their great-great-grandmothers, or as men might strap on gold watches given to them with pride by their grandfathers. Hate has become a matter of ideology, of national identity. It’s a scary thing.

I agree because our isolated bubbles will pop and we will enter a world of mass confusion. Sadly there are reprecussions for those who do and those reprecussions are implemented on a mass scale. We are in a bad state at the moment.

Many people no longer feel the need to wear their hatred discreetly for there is no fear when the powerful have given a nod, encouraged bigotry and racism, opened the door to violence..

And not just hold political figures accountable, but religious ones two. Recently Jerry Falwell, Jr stated “if more good people had concealed permits, we could end these Muslims.” So called “religious” crowd cheers. Danger is from religious fanatics if all religions. I am sure the NZ shooter saw themselves as doing Gods work.

Thank you for this! It sickens me that this world continues to sink deeper and deeper into violence and despair. I have hope that soon God will rid this world of the wicked people that commit such horrendous acts (Psalms 37:10,11). Many prayers to the families of the victims. I look forward to God’s Kingdom when pain, sorrow and violence will be a thing of the past and we’ll be able to see those that have lost their lives again in the resurrection (John 5:28,29; Revelation 21:3,4).

Yes, it is an unwelcome part of life once again, and although these beliefs are harboured by a small minority, they have the power to do great evil as we have seen. You are right that we must stand, and I have been reminded of this by a friend of mine Sue Leslie a resident of NZ who wrote this piece: https://zimmerbitch.wordpress.com/2019/03/15/no-longer-the-country-i-woke-up-in-this-morning/ sentiments that have been echoed by my family who are mostly NZ based as well. We have to make a stand at this growing problem so no one is believing that these views will be accepted by rational society. Including the man at the top in your country as I am sure you will agree!

There is a growing trend of right wing extremism at the moment, in Europe you see it, and given an opportunity it will raise it’s ugly head. As a society we need to deal with it swiftly. It can be given no space to flourish, although in reality it will always fail. Humanity makes mistakes, but we have too much respect fr ourselves to allow such views to be accepted. History has shown this.

Thank you Charles for your text. May all speak up. Violence is spreading. Everywhere. A young woman of 21 had a her throat slit in broad daylight in a street of Marseille. Apparently to steal her phone. Excuse me? Over a phone? In France?

Thank you for this message dear Charles,… what and how could we stop all these attacks, I don’t know… But this is clear, there is a background evil minds and they plan all these tragic events… as if unseen enemy… who and where… do the world know them? at least the top of the countries?…. why New Zealand?… What kind of thoughts behind this… I mean who is or are behind the murderer, I wonder this….
Once again I pray for the people who died there… and also I pray and wish, to see the peace to be with us soon…
Love, nia
