I recently asked about favorite holiday movies, and today, I thought I would move the discussion to a different art form–music, specifically holiday songs. For me, I think of two in particular that are among my favorites: one is “Snoopy’s Christmas,” which I have loved since I was a child; another is “Little Drummer Boy,” which speaks to the importance of the poor and what they can contribute to the world.
I ask all of you: what is your favorite holiday song or songs?

“Oh Holy Night” is my favourite Christmas song. It’s very powerful and moving.

I love that one, too, especially when it is sung by someone with a particularly stunning vocal range. 🙂

Do they know it’s Christmas… is one of my favorites. Also Last Christmas, but it isn’t really a holiday song.

O’ Come All Ye Faithful, Bob Dylan’s
version off his ‘Christmas in the Heart’
album. It has the gravelly sound of
hard won sincerity 😎 Unlike so many
Christmas release albums 💰🤑

I love your choices Charles, as well as the ones already listed by other commenters. I have a rather large list of favorites, but for me, the top spot belongs to Believe (The Polar Express), sung by Josh Groban.

To be completely honest with you, after hearing Christmas songs since early November I’m sick to death of them. However…..always at Christmas time we have on TV the British movie “Love Actually” (which incidentally I am also sick to death of) and my favourite song from that “Christmas movie” is Wherever You Will Go – by The Calling.
When I was a kid back in Yorkshire over 50 years ago my Dad and his friends would go singing traditional Christmas carols around the village pubs and Inns….did you know “While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks by Night” can be sung to over 40 different traditional tunes? Interesting fact…but after the 4th or 5th version it can become a little monotonous to listen to. Merry Christmas to all….and to all a Good Night.

Music, yes to that. It expresses so much.
I have been playing “Little Drummer Boy” this morning. To me it shows that giving simply from your heart is what matters.
Oh Helga Natt, ( oh Holy Night ) in Swedish.
I must admit I love so many that will bring both tears and smiles.

Difficult to say, as I really like many. But at first it was Annie Lennox’s version of “Angels from the Realms of Glory” that came to my mind.
