My local library literally saved my life growing up. Before the internet, it was the place of so many adventures that could be found only in books.

They can be great places of refuge.

Very cool. My first library was a small school library and I frequented it often. Daddy always made sure we had plenty to read though. Besides the Encyclopedia Britannica, he subscribed to National Geographic, and I believe my first gifted book, was The Diary of Anne Frank. I don’t think I got to see a real library until I was a teen.

I totally agree, though I could start my own. It was my dream once to open up a tea house with garden/shop and unique sitting areas where one could relax with books everyone chill with.

The quotes are all so wonderfully accurate. Thankfully, now, in covid, libraries can be accessed online for everyone.

Sadly, my library is closed. No way to check out or return the books I have. It makes me very sad. 😥

I don’t go to libraries much anymore. It sometimes seemed easier to buy the book online. I do have quite a few books on my kindle. It is ridiculous though, to spend so much money, when you can borrow them for free. Right now libraries are closed but I will have to reconsider how often I go when this pandemic is over.
